Well, I've blown a LOT of ROMs, PROMs, & EPROMs (as well as other chips) by
not using proper electronic etiquette. :) ROMs and such are usu. made with
CMOS or MOS technology to provide lower power and higher speed operation.
CMOS and MOS are quiet sensitive to static electricity, so any device that
employs such material is usually just as sensitive. It's much safer to assume
ALL devices are static sensitive and handled accordingly, IMHO. :)
