Sure, Randy really improved the DB before the plug got pulled.

Since the DB has no 'MOD' function, it is necessary to roll your own, but
that's really no big deal.

Here's the formula to enter in the DB via the <OA-O> 'Options' menu.

          
@Choose(((@DateToJul([Date]))/7-@Int((@DateToJul([Date]))/7)*7)+1,"Fri","Sat
","Sun","Mon","Tue","Wed","Thu")


Enter it as shown with _all_ parentheses or it will not work.

The reference to '[Date]' may change if you call your date field something
else, but remember that the word 'date' should be in the field name
somewhere.

Finally, be sure to set your date field to 'Auto-Recalc' so that whenever
the date is entered or is changed the formula for the day of the week will
be refreshed.

Again, AppleWorks may call its dates 'Julian', but actually its dating
system begins 01/01/1904.
