Re: ramcard: right. 2MB on a 4MB card. The jumper switches let you
specify how much ram is installed: either 1MB, 2MB, or 4MB.

As for the physical appearance of a GS motherboard: there are only two
types (not counting rare early boards). If there are solder pads for a
keyboard (or an actual keyboard connector) and numeric keypad in the
center of the motherboard, then it is a ROM1. This was so that you
could "upgrade" a //e with a new GS board in a //e case and use the //
e keyboard. Most GS motherboards didn't actually have the connector
soldered on, however, like the one pictured.

Otherwise, it's a Rom03.

Other recognition tip: soldered battery = ROM1. Removable battery in a
clip/holder = Rom03.

ROM1 boards have 256KB onboard. Rom03's have 1.25MB on board. (Or is
it just 1MB? I forget.) Add onboard RAM to RAM on the memory card to
get the total available RAM.
