Apple II users have been waiting for nearly two decades for this.
The Apple IIGS finally has a successor. Apple formally released the
IPhone 3 "GS" yesterday. Apple, in a press release, said: "It's no co-
incidence that our new phone is named "GS". We wanted to pay homage
to the last Apple II computer model we designed and released".
In another surprise, Apple also announced a trade in plan for Apple II
GS users. Apple II users who brought their systems to the Apple
stores would be given a credit toward purchasing the IPhone. Apple
II users were seen lining up all around the Bay Area yesterday to pick
up their new IPhones.
