Thanks for all the input. The idea for the denatured alcohol was from
this video;

Click to the half-way point because he does half of it narrated with
no video. The second part is him using the denatured alcohol and
showing his process.

I acquired a Platinum IIe a few months ago from a fellow claiming
"great condition". HAH! It was rusting under the power supply, below
the motherboard and on small parts of the video connector and the
cassette port inputs on the motherboard. I sanded the case insides and
primed them and then sealed them. Nice grey look to it.

I was trying to figure out how to get the rust off Platinum
motherboard and that's when I came across that video. Would the
denatured alcohol process be good for something like a motherboard
with small bits of rust?
