Hello!
I spent a bit trying to figure that out as well. I have a RamWorks I,
II, III and a little 16k Pocket Rocket.
This is what I read for the memory expansion from the manual;
RamWorks III & RamWorks Basic - http://www.1000bit.it/support/manuali/download.asp?id=307
RamWorks 2meg Plus - http://www.1000bit.it/support/manuali/download.asp?id=306
The RamWorks III and RamWorks Basic manual indicates ... "RamWorks III
can hold up to 1 Meg of memory on the main board and with the 2 Meg
Plus (or 2 Meg) Expander, up to a total of 3 Meg. RamWorks basic
recognizes up to 512k on the main board and up to 2.5 Meg total with
the 2 Meg Plus (2 Meg) installed."
The RamWorks 2 Meg "Plus" manual indicates ..."RamWorks 2 Meg PLUS is
an accessory printed circuit card for both the RamWorks II and
RamWorks III extended memory cards. The 2 Meg PLUS will not work with
the original RamWorks card. The original RamWorks only had two rows of
RAM chips with a maximum capacity of 512k)."
It further says ... "When installed on either RamWorks II or III, it
will provide an additional 1 to 2 megabytes of RAM (Random Access
Memory) storage. Unless specifically noted, the name "RamWorks" in
these instructions refers to both the RamWorks II and RamWorks III
cards."
I wonder if the original RamWorks and RamWorks Basic are different
cards. Otherwise the two manuals contradict themselves over what the 2
Meg Plus will work in. Is the 2 Meg Plus the same as the 2 Meg?
Speaking of which, I was able to track down a AE Digital Prism manual
for the Digital RGB upgrade but haven't been to find a ColorLink
manual, although it is mentioned in the AE RamWorks III manual.
I put some hi-res photos of all my RamWorks cards and the Pocket
Rocket here;
http://www.atfphotography.com/ramworks
I'm waiting on a ColorLink from a fellow and when it arrives I'll take
some hi-res photos of it and let you know how it works with the
RamWorks III. Where did you find the 2 meg Plus? That has to be an
amazingly rare piece.
Best!
