More important, it's not merely a uart, but can also be a usart.  It
was used in some early controllers for packet radio, so it's slightly
possible that the synchronous aspect is why it was used for this
board.  ANd it's dual, hence the two physical ports.

if the card has ROM, this will list it's contents, and
we might be able to id the card this way.

you can also try typing PR#7 and see if it
tries to do anything or prints a message on screen
