I was so excited today I got my Apple IIe shipped to me today from a
guy off ebay.

I did some research and got a cheapo compsite to VGA device to run the
graphics on my Dell LCD.

I've also been buying some vintage games I used to spend hours on like
Moebius, Ultima series, Wizardry series etc.

But I've run into a snag.

I realized I don't have a good way to transfer stuff from my AppleWin
images on my PC to the real world of 5.25 disks!!

How are you all getting stuff onto disk and where are you getting the
blanks from etc, etc.

Hi,

As you're only getting back into the retro scene, I recommend that you start by visiting the Apple II FAQ:

http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/A2FAQs1START.html

It will answer many of the questions you have, and some you don't!

A great way of transferring files from a modern PC running Windows/OSX/Linux to a real floppy disk is via ADTPro:

http://adtpro.sourceforge.net/

There are probably a number of places you can still get floppies, but one place is:

http://www.floppydisk.com/

Remember that the Apple ][ requires double density disks only, high density disks tend not to work very well (unless you have a IIgs with Superdrives).

BTW, welcome to the community! :-)

Cheers,
