Unfortunately I think that's unlikely, at least as long as the telco's
are influencing things. You know that they'll hang onto the cell call
honeypot until the last possible moment, and as long as Apple can
blame someone else for the overly-restrictive app store policy,
they'll use it to their advantage too.
In the end it might turn out to be a good call: The majority of users
are going to be happy with the app stores offerings, and those that
are not are going to jail break it anway. Apple haven't exactly been
predatory towards the (very well organised) jail broken community,
have they?
