I have a sca to 50pin adaptor, and it has 4 sets of jumpers for ID
(though i think it only needs 3 of them), and a manual saying what
pins are for what.
I have this old APS Tech external SCSI box that I am mounting the
drive into.
It has one of those ID changers on it that has the push button above
and below the number.
0-6, and when you get to zero, you can't push the down button anymore,
or when you get to 6, you can't push the up button anymore.
It has 4 pins off the back of it, which has 3 wires connecting to a
small plug, and 1 wire connecting to a smaller plug.
Wondering if any knows the pinout of the id changer, or what it's
called exactly so i can get a better search then I'm getting.
While I can just use a jumper to set it's ID "permantly" in the case,
i'd rather get the ID changer working if possible.
I tried to take it out to see if i could find who made it, but I can't
seem to figure out how to get it out, and don't want to break it.
okay, I did a bit more checking and it's a hompolt PF52 pushwheel
switch or something along those lines.
I figured the 4 lines are the C, and 1 , 2, 4 bits.
Not sure what the C is for.
On the adaptor, there are 8 pairs for pins, normal jumper style
pins going from left pair to right pair:
IDbit0, IDbit1, IDbit2, IDbit3, RMT-Start, Start delay, Sync, LED
On the ID switch:
Blue Wire is C
Brown Wire is 1 (bit0)
Yellow Wire is 2 (bit1)
Red Wire is 4 (bit 3)
Okay, it would seem obvious that the number wires go to one of the
same number. It's just the C (blue wire) i'm not sure about. I would
normally think that it would be the ground, or line to complete the ID
circuit. I don't know what kind of drive was in here before, but i'd
have to make it span all 3 pins on one side of the adaptor if I am
correct.
Anyways, anyone have any idea?
