was possibly replacing since there is only room for one card at a time. Would
someone want to leave out the 1MB Memory card they have grown used to in
favor of a CF/SDCard? This is why I started with emulating the 1MB memory
card when I started my project. (I know CB has 512KB of SRAM which is a good
thing :)
How many 8-bit applications really make use of the memory expansion? I use
mine as a RAM disk, for which purpose an SD card would be much better
suited. I can't imagine there'd be much of a performance hit... or at
least not a noticeable one.

Sorry for the double post - I didn't realize there was a bit of a
delay for the post to be updated

The extra RAM would be a huge boon for software writers like me.
I have been writing modules for using the mouse - a mouse-text based
desktop environment, desk accessories (calendar, calculator, notepad,
todo list, games, etc.), as well as the more common uses for the extra
memory, like Appleworks and Ram disks.

I have a 1 meg Z-Ram Ultra 2 in my IIc+ but I am constantly struggling
to find spare memory to install all these goodies. I would like to
see a minimum of 2 MB for expansion memory and an option for as much
as 4 MB. No memory will go unused as it would be great to have them
in memory all at the same time.

But with an internal hard disk, you can load them in milliseconds and
also update databases in milliseconds. And having the database in
non-volatile flash RAM makes it safe from power failures.

Having 4MB of un-backed-up data vulnerable to a power failure is
a nightmare in my book. (I realise most of what you want would
be code and data loaded from disk, but you could load it each time
you needed it into a reserved "overlay area" and you'd hardly
notice the time required.)
