The USB to Apple Floppy interface would be cheaper than CF. Anyone who can't
afford CF hasn't got much choice right now but to use ADT or some other
serial solution or to fool around with a NIC. That Microdrive of mine is
wonderful but admittedly I am spoiled.
Actually, I don't think the cost would be much different.
In each case, there's a USB interface to a microcontroller.
In fact, the floppy controller will require some RAM, too.
Any comparison to USB "thumb drives" doesn't work because
of the extremely high volumes of thumb drives, and the
consequent two-chip solution.
