I just received an A2M0106 floppy drive. I have a ROM3 Apple IIc.
When I try to format this disk in ADTPro, the light comes on but the
drive doesn't spin.If I eject and reinsert the disk mechanically, the
hub does spin briefly. I also hear the drive seek when I try to format
using ProDOS or ADTPro. I verified that +12V, +5V and enable are doing
what they should. I ALSO checked that the disk present microswitch is
working correctly.
Occasionally if ADTPro is hung trying to format, and I press Ctrl-
Reset, sometimes the computer won't reset but the drive will start
spinning. In this mode, the eject button has worked a couple of times
in electric mode.
The mech is a MFD-51W-03 if it makes any difference.
Any thoughts?
