ADTPro on Ubuntu 8.10. Something strange is happening here. Unable to open.

Ok, so I downloaded ADTPro and extracted it to my downloads folder.
Excited I immediately ran the adtpro.sh file, poked around to see what
it was like and then I quit it. Then I moved the ADTPro folder to my ~/
Applications/Java Apps/ folder (my own way of organizing stuff) and
when I attempt to run the adtpro.sh file nothing happens. So I attempt
to run it from within the downloads folder again. It launches. I try
to open the adtpro.sh file in other locations under my home folder and
nothing. Seems I can only run it within my downloads folder. A
preference folder or file must have been saved somewhere. My guess was
that there was a hidden folder or file in my home folder. Nope.
No .ADTPro folder (that's "dot ADTPro" in the name). I even looked
under the .java folder, but I saw nothing related to ADTPro. And for
the life of me I can't figure out where I can find such a settings
folder or file if there is any. I even tried rebooting to see if it
was some hardware asset not being released. Nope.

I just like being neat and tidy with my files and it's gonna bug me to
no end if things aren't in their proper place. I know I'm gonna forget
and accidentally delete the ADTPro folder in my routine purge of all
items in my download folder. It's no big problem I guess since I can
still use it as intended.

Any Linux using Apple II enthusiasts out there that can help, please?
