This is a very interesting conversation but hardly related to Apple 2 in any way. I'm not aware of a single implementation of either C++ or Java for 6502. But if this is a good place for such discussions, I have 2 more topics that always generate passionate religious wars: 1. Verilog or VHDL - which is "better". 2. Xilinx or Altera - who make "better" chips. Several times there were acknowledgments that the conversation is way off-topic, but the desire to have a final word apparently took over common sense... -Alex.
