I pulled out my multimeter to check, and nothing happened when
I pressed the buttons. So I desoldered everything and pulled
out one of the switches. When I hooked up the multimeter and
pressed the button, it made a connection. So the switches
are in fact good.
Apparently the clicking noise is made by the button assembly
and not the switch itself. So the button is pressing, but not
quite engaging the switch. If I push down on the switch a bit
when I press the button, I can get it to work. So at this
point I'm wondering if I could shim it up with something. Maybe
a couple layers of acrylic nail polish on the switch button would
make it tall enough to get pressed. Does that sound worth
a shot?
