I must have the other sort with thick leads. When I first got it I
took one look at the pins and thought that the motherboard socket
would never be the same after receiving them so I attached a
sacrificial (NON-machine pin) socket to the Zip Chip. It never caused
me any problems. Sorry to hear your unit is troublesome.
