What you've described is basically a super-SVD, and I like it a lot!
The thing is that the "simple matter of software" on the analysis side
suddenly strays into the domain of powerful modern development
environments and the legion of coders that use them (e.g. me). Sure, I
used to sling 6502 assembly for a living, but track analysis is easier
in Java. ;-)
