Me too - I don't have much use for either :) Well, from time to time I have to write formated text, but not often.As for a spreadsheet I truly couldn't find any use for it for a very long time. Then I found an unusual application on some BBS.
To measure the frequency response of a circuit you need to take a number of measurements, find the maximum and recalculate the other data points as a fraction of this maximum if not convert to dB. A spreadsheet was a natural tool for this job. I think I used "as easy" - a free clone of "123".
