Ah, but now I'm thinking... with less RAM and power, you could easily
do that, and use their power-efficient servers for the rendering,
using less power at the client.
Look at cell phones. While running the radio (in a standby mode,
granted) and the CPU, it could last a couple days, and the radio was
the big power hog. And, cell phones have enough power to not only
handle web browsing and music, they can also handle video, nowadays.
I'm wondering if a low-speed ARM is the way to go, with about 16-32
megs of RAM. Make a simple multitasking OS for it, write an Opera Mini
client for it (and Opera actually is supporting OBML-based stuff in
the Opera for Devices SDK, now, so no JVM needed,) and use the low
power support chips that are available.
