Antoine,

Thank you very much for the suggestion about an older system disk. I
finally got around to trying System 5.0.4 with Sweet 16 and Softdisk
GS. When I tried running SAM this time it started without any trouble.
I guess I should have thought about trying an earlier system disk
myself but it has been several years since I had my original GS and
even then I was using system 6.0.1 since that was what was on the hard
disk drive I got with it.
