I have had success with both the FastPath5 and the Gatorbox. AUI to
TP adapters are cheaply available on THE auction site.
One downside is that to set up the boxes (or update firmware), you
need a Mac to run the software.
I'm currently trying to set up a similar Compatible Systems unit,
which looks to be more compact than the Gatorbox or FastPath.
Also, I haven't tried to use one of those Appletalk (over Ethernet)
stack on my PC. From what I've read, it might be able to talk to your
Mac through AppleTalk. You'd need to get one of those LocalTalk-to-
Ethernet adapters from Farallon (I call them the squids). The same
adapters allow my IIgs to talk to my LC with TP wiring through a
standard Ethernet hub.
