Re: Apple 820-0444-A IIe PDS Emulation Card

Thanks for the great advice. I actually have the LC I just haven't turned it
on yet. LOL! I think it is a 475 but I don't remember at the moment.

I will try looking for the manual online. Was there software that was needed
to get it to work?

Thanks again.

Do you have the "Y" cable that connects to the back of the card? It is
for connecting a joystick and floppy drives. If you want to use a
5.25" floppy, you need the "Y" cable.

If you don't have the cable, you can still use the internal 3.5" drive
on the LC as an 800K Apple drive. You can also create a ProDOS
partition on your LC hard drive. This requires repartitioning, of
course.

I saw a pinout of the "Y" cable online somewhere. You can Google it if
you want to build one. The high-density, three-row connector that
attaches to the card may be hard to find, however.

Yes, one PDS slot only. The only way to have some type of networking
with the Apple IIe Card installed is via Appletalk. Others can tell
you more, but I understand that a Gatorbox, Fastpath, etc. Appletalk-
Ethernet bridge will let you get on the internet via the Appletalk
connection.

The docs and software for this card are online. I don't remember the
exact URLs where I found them at the moment, but I can figure that out
if need be.

It sounds like you don't have an LC already. If not, get either an LC
III or LC 475 (prefered). The other models are much slower.
