I am currently messing around with a Ufonic card. You can find a
picture of it here: http://www.hackzapple.com/ORG1/M2/SONSCARDS.HTM

The one I have is the smaller of the two, labeled "Prescription
Learning". Apparently a later version. It seems that Jostens Learning
became Prescription Learning and later another name before finally
disappearing.

In any case, I have one floppy from the Prescription learning series,
so I know the card works. It seems to be almost a full computer on a
card, with a 65C10 and 64KB RAM. It also has the same TI voice
synthesis chip as the Echo IIb (you can see one of those at the same
URL). I understand that this is the same (or similar) chip as used in
the Speak and Spell toys and the TI99 computer. An LM380 2.5W audio
amp is on the Ufonic card to drive an external, passive speaker box.
Quite a nice card.

I have Googled, but can't seem to find much information on this card,
other than it was used by the extensive learning software series
previously mentioned. So far, I only have the one disk to use with
this card. By any chance, does anyone know where a manual and
additional software can be found? Programming information would be
very helpful, also.

I have one of these also, received from a person who worked in the educational software field. And, like you, I have no manual, no software, no information of any sort on the board.

Please let us know if you turn up a scan or copy of anything?
