Returning Apple User

I have recently traded for an Apple IIe and a IIgs. I had an Apple II
clone back in 1983. I have been diligently reading the CSA2 archives
this past week (almost done), so hopefully, my questions won't be the
same old thing.

First, I have a Vulcan card, power supply and drive from a IIgs. The
power supply seems dead, but needs further investigation. The card
works. The drive is mostly dead (why does Monty Python come to mind
when I type that sentence? :-) The drive was working enough that I
loaded GS/OS 6.01 onto it, but it kept giving me read errors. I tried
to format the drive with the Vulcan partition manager, but it
complained about too many bad sectors. Now, the drive isn't usable.

I haven't had any luck so far in locating another drive that will work
with this card. I tried a few CF cards also, but no luck. There are
two reasons I don't just buy a modern interface card and use a CF
card. First, I can't afford it right now. Second, the Vulcan is
supposed to support CP/M, which none of the modern cards seem to.
Anyone have any suggestions?

As to the CP/M issue, I read about something called ProPartition, but
can't seem to find where to download it (I did Google). I am not sure
if this software will work with MS Softcard CP/M, so it may not be of
use to me anyway. I have an actual MS Softcard, which doesn't work (I
haven't troubleshot it yet). I also have an ALS Z-Card, which works
just fine with the MS CP/M. One way or another, I really would like to
be able to use a hard drive or CF with CP/M.

I also have a video card that I need help figuring out. The card
measures 5-1/2" long by 2-3/4" high (w/o the gold fingers). Near the
upper left are a 16-pin header and a 10-pin header. The 10-pin header
has a ribbon cable that terminates in a DB-9F. Just above the 16-pin
header is "Seiko-AAF". To the right of the 10-pin header, in large
letters is "AMDEK___". About an inch below the 10-pin header is a 3-
pin jumper, labeled "J2". About an inch below that is "Video - 7
Inc.". The board is populated with 14 TTL chips and one PAL. I assume
that it drove an Amdek monitor, but was it B/W, color, TTL, RGB, or
whatever? Anyone have a clue?

That should be enough for now. I'm sure I'll have more questions
another time. Thanks for any help.

BTW, I'm posting this via Google Groups, so I hope this works.
