You're welcome.
I've never dealt with .2mg files on a GS, only via emulation on a Mac,
so I can't help you there.
But, what is flaky about your Appletalk connection?
Oh, and just a little clarification here. Localtalk is the cabling that
plugs into your serial ports. Appletalk is the protocol that runs on top
of it. (And actually can run on Ethernet and some wireless setups.)
I ran Localtalk/Appletalk for years between a number of Macs and my GS
without any problems, so hopefully I'll be able to help you with that.
