That does not surprise me. Australia has never been a cheap source for
components compared to USA or Asia.

That retailer was just the first I found that actually listed the DIL
plugs.
I think I have a cheaper source for the plugs - A$1.95 (pity no
picture to confirm it).

Of course postage needs to be added so it is probably not worth it for
a couple of cables.
