Unfortunately it isn't that simple. This is just a regular 65C02,
rated to run at up to 14MHz. It will not run any faster than the CPU
it replaces. The adapter is apparently needed due to some minor
electrical differences from the older 6502's.

Accelerators like the Zip Chip or Transwarp are really the only way to
speed up the IIe.
