I always thougth that if I needed more //e
speed I could use a IIgs in the //e mode.
I heard that some folks use to use the IIgs
almost exclusively in the //e mode (but that
was before I was involved).
Could I use the IIgs as if it were a 3x
accelerated //e and not notice the difference
except for the box and keyboard?
(or maybe I should just "man up" and buy
an accelerator (somehow) for the //e. )
A IIgs hooked to a composite monitor should
appear as an accelerated //e, and it can run
nearly all of the earlier Apple II software.
And, later, when you want to run 16-bit stuff,
then you can do that as well. Try it for awhile
and see how you like it.
Really, do you want us to make a preference
choice for you? Try things and see for yourself.
