Hi I have a question and i was told this was the place to go. I have
an apple //c with the original rom (255). With my own wired null
modem cabel I have have tried adtpro but all that happens is it shows
stuff being transfered but nothing appering on the screen. I then
used these intructions:http://www.raphnet.net/divers/appleIIc/appleIIc_en.php#installation
and with hyperterm i was abble to connect to the apple but still
nothing appered on the screen so for the heck of it I typed in the
apple "pr#2" and all charecter output was displayed on the computer as
a bunch of garbled characters. Any help would be nice.
I don't own a //c, but it sounds like you don't have matching serial
configurations on the two computers. You need to ensure that the baud,
stop bits, and parity are set *exactly* the same on both machines.
Usually if you are getting your keypresses echoed on the other machine
as garbage it means incompatible serial setups.
I suggest you go to the ADTPro site and make sure you follow the steps
on the site closely. Ensure that both your PC and Apple have their
serial ports configured correctly (i.e. the same).
Also, try starting out at a lower baud rate - for example 9600 - to
test that things are working before trying to hit the higher speeds.
Hope this is of help. Let us know how you get on.
Cheers,
Mike
Um I wired the cable exactly according to the adtpro web site and
followed intructions for detting it up with at least 3 diffrent
programs (hyperterm, mode & type, and the adtpro programs) if any
thing ill make a new cord using a printer serial cord.
