  I saw very few motors go bad, but it can happen.  Totally frozen up,
and you could see a brown spot on the paper label where it got real
hot.

  But I had to adjust or clean a bunch of them limit switch contacts
though.

And a failed limit switch leads rapidly to a failed motor or
gear train...
