Hello,

I recently got apple II+ with 80-column card (Videx, I believe). PR#3
command switches to 80-column mode. And I've read some where that the
card support lower case letters.

Does anyone know how I can switch to lower-case letters in BASIC?

The Apple ][+ BASIC ROM doesn't support typing in lower case, so that
is generally avoided.

If you have "keyboard intercept" software, you can type lower case
into quoted strings, though. Such software usually uses the Esc key
to shift cases, or the "shift key mod" (a 1-wire patch) to allow the
keyboard's SHIFT key to work as you would expect.

I don't recall whether the Videx card provides this intercept or not...

Once you get lower case into your strings, the Videx card will display
them without any problem.

With the Videx board, CTRL-A acts like a CAPS LOCK when in 80-column mode (PR#3). If you add the shift wire mode, then the SHIFT key works like it should. I don't think you can type BASIC keywords in lowercase.
