One thing I know is, the SCSI drive will only respond to the very same 
SCSI card whith which it was written. IOW, if it was originally attached 
to an Apple SCSI card, then you need to use one now to read it.

A ROM 01 GS won't work with slot 4 set to Your Card, but, the 
ROM 03 GS will. This is one of the perks of the ROM 03. Among 
others, which you can find in the FAQs.
