The immediacy fallacy... All people (regardless of intelligence) have
a tendency to overvalue facts they acquired recently. Oddly, it's been
a long time since psychologists showed this to be fundamentally true,
yet the vast majority of people are oblivious to it. And aren't the
media organisations of the world just loving it :-)

Yeah well... A great number of people are convinced that the stars of
all things talk to them, and can predict the future. By comparison,
therapeutic magnets seem almost plausible ;-)
