MIT's Apple ][ inpsired $12 computer

I just caught this article on Slashdot and thought it sounded like a
really interesting idea:
http://news.bostonherald.com/business/technology/general/view/2008_08_04_Desig
ners_on_quest_to_build__12_computer/

Basically, they're setting out to build an 80s-style microcomputer
which they say is inpsired by the Apple ][ systems they used in
school that will be low-cost enough as to be affordable for people in
developing nations. It doesn't really go into technical details, so it's hard
to tell how Apple-like these systems might be, but it sounds exciting
enough.

My apologies if this was already posted, by the way.
