When I saw Harry's message I thought to suggest that he try other utiilities
but also thought that by now he should know to do that, and maybe he had
some other reason for posting his message, like maybe the docs from whatever
he is using say he should be able to do something but he can't in practice.
I too am very happy with some of Ciderpress's features like the Applesoft
BASIC to text feature. That's cool. I use a similar utility on the C64
disimages called tok64. That's cool too.
I grab Ciderpress when I want to set a volume name on a ProDOS diskimage, or
to delete a bunch of files. Apple II Oasis is my choice for building the
disk because as you say an Explorer-like interface and for me the ability to
select multiple files for operations like ProDOS file types is nice.
The critical thing for any of us is to try as many utilities as we think we
need and then to pick the ones that obviously work for what we do.
Constructing facsimiles of the Beagle Bros. Minipix disks 2 and 3 for me was
a good exercise because I challenged myself to make DOS 3.3 and ProDOS
diskimages that experts would accept as reasonable. Maybe Harry should
attempt such an exercise to learn the ins-and-outs of the various utilities
that he seems to want to use.
That's what I think anyway.

To me it wouldn't be worth the time. C++ is not a problem for me, but I
always figure on things like this that if it was easy the original version
would have included the feature. I am lazy in this way:) I'd rather spend my
time doing kiddie games and graphics and music for the Apple II.
