If that appeals to you, more power to you--but I think the vast majority of those who have expressed themselves on this topic are motivated by a desire to "cut the cord" to Apple-specific monitors and get their Apple systems to share modern VGA monitors.

But this is what I mean Michael - I believe it _could_ give a comparable viewing experience on a VGA monitor, if sufficient effort is expended. Of course your arguments on ease, affordability etc are duly noted.
