The ROM is just gonna make the card skip startup, the thing is holding the bus up. If the ROM got popped 'cause of the backward SCSI cable you can bet that a path of destruction was blazed between the two and there's plenty between 'em. I'd start poking around at the 245, 244.. stuff on the edge connector. though it would be a whole lot easier if it were a Rev C..
