I have another broken IIe but I'm pretty sure I know what's wrong with it: the keyboard encoder chip is missing :-) There are companies that sell surplus encoder chips but they have $300 minimum orders. So if there's anyone out there who has a non-working IIe that they want to get rid of (or if you want my broken IIe) please let me know. rg
