I'm pretty sure in an earlier thread someone mentioned that in MAB to
plot a single point you need to do "HPLOT X, Y: HPLOT TO X, Y" to get a
dot to show up.  I would say the documentation is wrong and was probably
written by someone with Applesoft experience and it just slipped through
the proof reading.
