I have a Shiva Fastpath 5 running the latest K-Star using the Marinetti 
MacIP link layer and Appletalk file sharing with a few OS 9 and 10.3.x 
machines and a PC running PCMacLan with no issues. If you obtain a 
Fastpath and have to reset it you will need a Mac with a Localtalk port 
to initially set it up. If you need help configuring I can provide setup 
info.

I was also successful in running an old Powermac 6100/66 with OS 8.6 as 
a bridge. You need to install the latest OpenTransport and I think the 
freely downloadable version of Localtalk Bridge off of Apple's site. 
Although its not documented, this combination of software does provide 
MacIP routing if you use the latest version of OpenTransport.
