How do you get around the bug in that latest beta release which blocks Applewin from using a HD image? This was discussed in the emulator group Older Applewin versions work fine but don't support the mouse which is still acceptable for most emulation.
Personally, I prefer Apple Oasis. The shareware fee was $20 (perhaps $25) which is still reasonable considering the functionality it offers. For example, up to 1 megabyte aux ram, mouse, clock, cpm card, rearrangeable slot devices, multiple HD devices configurable serial i/o card file manager, disk server options and more. One might even talk to the developer and get a license either cheaper or free.
Another consideration is Kegs. While it's a GS emulator it can be used as simply a IIe emulator if desired. I often use it as such. It supports large ram size is very fast, can use the 2mg disk image and the 'f4' (not Kegs32 by a different author) configuration option makes using it quite easy.
