The best-looking and most "natural" graphics don't have very
fine-grained contrasting color changes (the human eye doesn't
see them very well), so composite color is a pretty good match
to what we like to see.

Even in RGB, the IIgs frequently dithers colors, with the intent
that the human eye will average them out.
