I assumed that there would be a concentration of interest in the US, which, I agree, does not solve your problem. However, I'd be interested in a matrix of shipping costs for small packages (say, 1 pound, 5 pounds, and 10 pounds) between various countries including the US. It may be that the US is unusual, or it may not. Shipping from other countries *to* the US seems a bit high, as well. I know that priority mail of less than a pound from the US to Australia is $20, while first-class postage for the same package is only $5.
