Re: vintage disk drive dilema - to modify or not to modify

Hi,
The drive speed is good. The resistance change should help with all
types of disks. I think it improves resistance to random noise. I
tried tweaking alignment, but I can't find a setting that will work for
BOTH normal disks and Atarisoft disks.
I guess it's not so much about confusion as the "correctness" of using a
drive labeled as Drive 1, as Drive 2. It's probably not rational, but I
just spent a bunch of time recreating a rev 0 board for this system, and
that is probably not rational, either. :-)
Just put post-it notes over the drive markings.
I never used drive markings, since I used to switch physical drives
occasionally. The drive on the left or on top is *always* drive 1
and the drive on the right or on the bottom is always drive 2. ;-)
