Re: Interesting pics from Brazilian Apple II group
Hello to all,
I am from Brazil, and I sent the address to Paul. In fact, there were
2 vga monitors, one linked to an fpga (Altera core) programmable
computer emulating apple II. The second was using a TVBox, a device
that uses standard RCA video imput to 15 pin VGA output. Two of the
computers were linked to 1084s (Commodore), 4 were using some kind of
tvs or color monitors and the rest were using either green or ambar
monocrome monitors. Sorry for the descriptions be just in Portuguese,
but most of the dinamics was understandable only by seeing the photos.
We call ourserlves, relating to Apple II, as Applemaniacos
(Applemaniacs), because there was a huge apple enthusiasts group back
in the 80s with this name (Clube dos Applemaníacos).
And we use also the term "Nerd", even in portuguese, since there isn´t
a special word for it. There were other meetings just like this one,
mostly annualy, were we share experiences and see our machines working
and playing on them. There are many people from every part of Brazil,
but most of the attendance is on São Paulo city.
