One more thing: tubes still aren't that hard to come by if you need them.
You can't exactly pop down to the corner drugstore or Radio Shack for a
replacement, but there are plenty of companies selling them online. I've
dealt with Antique Electronic Supply (www.tubesandmore.com) in the past, and
I'm sure there are a few others (AES is just one of the largest, if not the
largest).
