Ran across an add in Nibble (Feb 85 pg. 94) for this C compiler,
Thunder C. It came in Pascal 1.1 and ProDOS versions. Has anyone seen
this software and/or doc's or have it available? I would love to have
a look at it. This would make the 4th 8 bit C compiler for the II.
Ok, ran across another compiler ad. This one is DOS 3.3 and only a
subset of C. It also requires a separate assembler such as BigMac.
So this one might have compiled straight to 6502 code (though it
probably also depended on a large run-time, and possibly even an
interpreter...).
Turns out there were more C compilers available than I remembered. It
would be a shame if these are truly lost classics.
It would be a shame if some went extinct. I'd guess, though, that
several of them had a very small user base, which would make extinction
quite probable.
