It so happened that I (mostly) made a new version of FPGApple.
This time it is based on Altera Cyclone 2 - DE1 board.
If you have a DE1 board (it is $150) and want to play with this soft
Apple, let me know and I'll provide some instructions.

Very cool.......

Any plans on porting it to Spartan3?

The original FPGApple was written for a (Digilent) Spartan3 board. However that board doesn't have either FLASH memory or an MMC/SD connector. So to play with it one needs extra hardware. For example I have a CF connector so that ProDOS volumes can be read/written. NIB images need to be uploaded into SRAM using a USB interface that is also extra hardware.

This is the main reason for a port to a platform that has it all.
