I agree--it would be nice to have a schematic!
Yes, it would. I've seen (and have) schems for the Monitor II and
Monitor III, but I've never run across any for the seemingly much more
common Color Composite IIe/IIc monitors. I would think the Apple
dealers had them.
If it has a vertical grid for a shadow mask, then it will have an
in-line gun. Remember, its the geometry of the gun position and the
shadow mask that keeps each gun illuminating only its color phosphor.
Generally speaking, if you have a monitor that needs a new CRT, it's
probably time to get a new monitor. ;-)
My CRT is fine -- I'm trying to learn and understand this particular
monitor. I'd like to adapt it to accept Y/C (SVideo). About all I
know is that for Y/C, I'd need to tap in after Y+C are normally
separated within the monitor, at some point right before chroma
demodulation.
I'll post here any specs I find out about this monitor as they're
hard to come by.
That would be very useful!
I've seen places that will produce a schematic for you if you send
them the circuit board. No idea on cost, but I imagine it's not
cheap. Would this be worth pursuing since it's been a long time and
no schems have turned up for these monitors? If I did this, would
anyone interested in a schematic at some point mind paying $10-$20 for
a copy to help me recover (over the long term) some of the expense?
